[He's still pretty solidly uncomfortable with the whole of how he reacted. He doesn't remember a lot of it, but he remembers the way they both looked at him the first time he was conscious around them again. So whatever he had said that night couldn't have been good.]

[He squirms where he sits, the edge in Choromatsu's tone making him want to crawl into the closet and not move for a while. He knows that's an overreaction-- Choromatsu is just being upfront with him, just trying to make it easier for all of them. Still, he hated it.]

Just. ...Just the painkillers should be fine. [He doesn't have the will to ask him to stay with him for a little while.]

[ Well you're in luck Ichimatsu. Because Choromatsu was planning to stay here for a while whether you asked him to or not. ]

[ He falls silent for a while trying to think of something to say... ]

[Okay, now he's just confused. If you're having a tone with him, like he should just up and say anything that was bothering him, knowing full well he can't, why suddenly bring up a cat cafe. He's so confused. Not that he's any clearer with his own responses-- if he could just say, I'm glad I'm not dead and I'm sorry I scared you, this would be a lot easier.]

[He grunts vaguely, nodding.]

Because of the tree...? Or because of the pain?

[ He can totally understand that the tree's just that much of an inconvenience (though a change like that seems counterproductive for the whole hunting and eating humans thing) but... if Ichimatsu's going to be in pain all the time now...

[He quirks his mouth more crooked than it already is, rubbing at the exit point of the tree idly.]

The tree itself. I hope I'm not gonna hurt forever, shit. Masochism only goes so far.

[ Finally he just says it. ]

[He's quiet for a long time, shifting to try and curl his knees to his chest like always, forgetting he can't really do it anymore. He shifts restlessly for a moment before settling to sit cross-legged, drooped forward over his own lap due to the weight of the tree. It's less than it used to be, at least.]
