CHARACTER INFORMATION
Character Name: Choromatsu Matsuno
Age: actual age never given but let's go with 23 to match his bros
Canon: Osomatsu-san
Canon Point: episode 24
Character Information: wikia page
Personality:
Out of the Matsuno sextuplets, Choromatsu is the “straight man” of the group. The “tsukkomi” to five “boke”, so to speak. For every crazy scheme or thing that comes out of his brothers' mouths, Choromatsu is there being the logical voice of reason in this crazy shitshow... or being the killjoy, depending on your point of view. Doing something illegal? Choromatsu will be the one to point that out. Describe a plan that is inherently dumb? He'll point that out too. A good example of this is in episode 6, when the brothers go visit their childhood friend Hatabou for his birthday, only to discover Hatabou is now extremely rich. When Osomatsu tries to get Hatabou to give them some cash and Hatabou offers to give them as much money as they want, Choromatsu is the one to step up and intervene, saying that it's wrong to just take money from their friend like this and that you can't just buy friendship. He's that kind of person and depending on how you feel that either makes him a breath of fresh air compared to his brothers or completely annoying.
Being one of six siblings though, in order to be heard Choromatsu had to learn to be...well. Rather... intense. (Though you can debate this still didn't make the others listen to him...) He has a very short temper (another result of growing up with five brothers), is easily annoyed and either constantly freaking out or shouting (even when everyone else is just speaking normally). Basically if you ever need a foolproof way to distinguish Choromatsu from his brothers just ask yourself: which one is screaming? Because it'll usually always be Choromatsu.
Being the “voice of reason” also means that Choromatsu usually tries to be the responsible one too. Out of all six brothers, he's the only one that wants to stop being a NEET and is actively looking for a job (at least with no ulterior motiveslike getting close to girls). He's also constantly urging and yelling at his brothers to do the same. Unfortunately Choromatsu might be too ambitious and unrealistic with what he wants out of a job to actually get and keep one. In episode 2 while at an employment center he's referred to as “annoying” when discussing all the “must haves” he wants out of a job (which are reasonable to an extent but at some point beggars can't be choosers when you're unemployed), and in episode 4 he's talking about becoming an idol manager. He also has the tendency to announce his plans, discuss them in detail and then... seemingly be satisfied with just doing that. This is pointed out to him in episode 19 by Osomatsu and Todomatsu (with a whole lot of “JUST DO IT” being screamed at him) and seemingly went unnoticed by him beforehand. In addition this resolve to find a job actually waivers as he continues to be a failure as the series goes on. By episode 21 Choromatsu declares that he doesn't care about finding a job anymore and (with a noticeable amount of hesitancy) claims he wants to stay a NEET. Two episodes later however, he has a breakdown about his failures, saying that he does still want a job and to become somebody, but views it as impossible. (It should be noted that in the next ep he finally succeeds at this, now that his resolve is renewed.) Basically, while Choromatsu can be motivated towards something, he'll unknowingly set his sights too high and is liable to give in to discouragement eventually (like any reasonable person).
Despite being the straight man in a gag anime though, Choromatsu does have his own gimmick. Namely, he's a wota: a subset of otaku focused on idols. Choromatsu is extremely obsessed with his fave idols, particularly one called Nyaa-chan. He joins in the fan chants at concerts, screams his lungs out while fawning, dons standard wota attire, and spends LUDICROUS amounts of money on merch, tickets and fan meetings (money that is likely not even his own). He is even depicted in promo art as owning a Nyaa-chan body pillow. If you thought anime otaku were bad, they have nooooothing on idol otaku in terms of obsession, which on its own says a whole lot about his vices (on an interesting note, in the “Girlymatsu” bits - yes, this is a thing – his female counterpart is portrayed as a fujoshi which also says a lot about his base character). This spreads in general to girls that are extremely cute in his eyes, such as the sextuplets' childhood crush Totoko, who Choromatsu will gladly join his brothers in helplessly fawning over. His sense and logic will go straight out the window when cute girls are involved too, as shown in episode 10 with the rental girlfriends, where Choromatsu is the only one to question the whole operation and urges his brothers not to do it... and then is also the first to fall for it himself. Despite this weakness for cute girls though, he keeps himself relatively in line when actually interacting with them, as he's shown on the rental girlfriend date to be sheepish and timid (while freaking out internally), rather than the more fanatic reactions he has to Nyaa-chan and Totoko.
Also don't let Choromatsu being the “voice of reason” fool you into thinking he's not a piece of shit like his brothers because he most definitely is. In episode 3 he's the one leading the “Pachinko Police” (more gag anime nonsense) against the younger brother Todomatsu, intent on taking his gambling earnings from him, all because Todomatsu hadn't intended on sharing with his brothers. In episode 3.5 (the episode exclusive to the blurays) he happily speaks of buying a new piece of idol merch he knows full well he shouldn't have bought (because he didn't have the money for it) but did anyway (presumably using money that wasn't his). And while he'll tell his brothers off for trying to exploit money out of the job system or Hatabou, he's very complacent with many of their other shenanigans... like running away without paying their tab/bill, getting the drunkest after chastising the others for sitting around drinking or stealing literally everything in another character's house. He's also shown to be clever in an underhanded way when he wants to be, a good example being from episode 4 where he pulls out the “I'm most likely to provide grandchildren” card on his mother to win her favor over his brothers (it works). This pops up again in a smaller way later in episode 22, when it's his idea to piss Iyami (another character) off by showing him shocking things, starting with destroying things important to him like his bank statements (which Choromatsu had on hand for some... reason) so that Iyami will win a fight they have money riding on. Basically he's just as bad as his brothers, which makes him a bit of a hypocrite at times.
Despite being a shit like them though, he is noted by others to be very terrible at lying. So badly in fact, that when playing mahjong with his brothers, his poker face is so terrible his tiles may as well be reflected in his eyes. This likely comes from the fact that Choromatsu also has a bad tendency to over think things and is extremely self conscious. When warned about his dangerous levels of “self awareness”, his brothers take him out to flirt with girls, but every single girl they tell him to hit on Choromatsu finds an excuse for why they're too good for him and he doesn't stand a chance. When meeting with Nyaa-chan he also has an extremely overly thought out fantasy about how he intends to act and win her favor in a short 1 minute meeting, showing the extent of his overthinking. Despite the over thinking though, he can still at times be gullible and fall for tricks like the aforementioned rental girlfriend situation or when Todomatsu began flattering him with sentimentality in order to get him to drop his guard and inevitably be knocked out of the race they were in.
It's also important to note about Choromatsu that despite the way he acts around his brothers and his frustrations towards them, he really does care for them on a brotherly level. When Karamatsu is kidnapped, Choromatsu is the only brother to care about the kidnapping, trying to get the others to do something to save Karamatsu (though he eventually forgets when their mom comes in with pears). Also with Karamatsu, when it looks like his brother won't be able to continue living with their mother, Choromatsu says that he'll just take care of him if it comes to that. He shows concern numerous other times over their feelings as well and is shown crying when he finally moves out, seemingly because he's leaving them behind and the previous night's turmoil with Osomatsu. It's just that, like all siblings, Choromatsu's patience with them is short and he gets extremely frustrated with their bullshit (and in this family there sure is a TON OF BULLSHIT), and will react like any angry brother would when pushed too far.
Lastly and most importantly, in a scene in episode 18, Choromatsu reveals that what he wants most is “to be accepted”. Keeping this, as well as the effect on psychological development that growing up as an identical sextuplet might have had, all in mind explains a lot of Choromatsu's actions and motivations. Of course he wants to get a job and become somebody in society; not only is it because of societal expectations but it's because he desperately wants to separate himself somehow from his brothers as a person. When you grow up as a unit and not an individual, that sort of thing can take a real toll. Choromatsu wants this more than anything else: to be accepted and acknowledged as Choromatsu Matsuno and not “another one of the Matsuno sextuplets”.

Would you prefer a monster that FITS your character’s personality, CONFLICTS with it, EITHER, or opt for 100% RANDOMIZATION?
Either!
(Though if it's possible I'd like for him to be different from his brothers. I didn't put the ones already in game on the opt-out list because I would be a-ok playing those monsters but I think it'd be more interesting to be different).
